I worked up this illustration about big wave surfer Garrett McNamara for ESPN magazine. Originally I had a basketball/football and some sporting logotypes floating/sinking in the sea as the story’s direction was a little different. The story came through a little different to planned so we rocked out the items and just went with the big wave.

Made these little illo’s (which were also animated slightly for the digital version) with art director Adrian Aldred for a feature based on a fun story that was created by school kids as to where and what would happen if they went on a journey in these new Fiat’s. No doubt the kids are rocking the lazer eyed metal gorilla… oh the awesomeness of a young mind!
