Jose Parla, working in his studio in Brooklyn. Watching him work was amazing. He was doing about four or five paintings at once, big pieces leaning against the walls, moving from one to the other, working fast and spontaneously, listening to music, happy. An almost Jackson Pollack-like energy, but more Cuban. Just this huge garage like space with the big metal roll-up gate. I spent about two hours there just shooting him while he worked.
