Jimmy Hoffa holds a “Hoffa for President” button during his 1959 campaign for the Presidency of the Teamsters Union.
Today is the 37th anniversary of Jimmy Hoffa’s disappearance. Last seen at the Machus Red Fox Restaurant in Bloomfield Hills, Hoffa was legally declared dead in 1982. Folklore had it that Hoffa’s remains lay beneath one of the endzones at Giants’ Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey but after the stadium was demolished no such evidence was found. A book published by Adrian Humphreys, in November of 2011, states that Hoffa’s body was buried beneath the foundation of the Renaissance Center during its construction.
