GOD ALWAYS HAVE YOU HEARING AND SEEING STUFF AT A CERTAIN TIME.

In life it feels like God lays out helpful tips at certain checkpoints in your life. Almost like a video game of some sorts. It’s akin to how you’ll reach a certain point in the video game and come across a box filled with goodies that will help you further in the game. During and after Law School I started to realize that God was allowing me to hear things at a certain time for a reason.

Screen+Shot+2021-04-04+at+5.11.16+PM.jpg

I. I HEARD THIS RIGHT ON TIME

First, I remember God allowing me to hear a conversation about a young lady needing to have a credit card. She didn’t have any money before our school refund hit and her apartment complex required the first month’s rent before she moved in. Low on her luck the young lady was told that she should probably apply for a credit card real quick to cover her expense. At that time it was just a random story amongst peers passing time between classes.

Soon after I was in a financially challenging predicament. After nearly coming with blows with one of my unruly roommates, I had to move in with my girlfriend temporarily. In the twilight of the semester with little to no funds, I didn’t even know how I would survive the next couple months. Suddenly I recalled the conversation with the young lady. I went to my credit union and requested a credit card. Thank God almighty I was approved and my financial woes were eliminated for the rest of that term. To this day I still have that credit card and its been assisting me in my fiscal responsibility.

II. I SAW THIS AT THE RIGHT TIME

Screen Shot 2021-04-04 at 5.12.51 PM.png

One of my favorite activities is exercising. I love to exercise outside and get that sun radiating on me. I feel like Superman receiving from the sun gaining superpowers or something lol. One day I was returning from running and an Amazon Delivery man was trying to get into the backdoor. I opened up the door for the young brother but I thought to myself, “This is kinda odd Amazon deliveries usually come to the front”. However I shrugged it off and didn’t think nothing else of it.

Sure enough I put my prime account to use to order some storage for my art supplies ( I still need more its ridiculous beloved) and I was anxiously awaiting my package. I received a message saying my package was delivered but I did not see it out front. Now my apartment complex is pretty good when it come to theft issues, packages literally sat outside all day with no one touching them. I said “I no people ain’t starting to steal packages now”. I was stuck in confusion until I recalled seeing that Amazon driver on that running day. I hurried to the backdoor and lord behold there was my package! I was like man it really was meant for me to see my guy that day, I would’ve never thought to check here!

III. CONCLUSION

Pay attention to those conversations or occurrences that seem little in significance. Everything literally happen for a reason and the smallest thing from the past could be of great help to the biggest thing in your present!

PEOPLE GOTTA KNOW WHEN ITS THERE TIME

PEOPLE GOTTA KNOW WHEN ITS THERE TIME

IMG_0DC5718F5286-1.jpeg

If you haven’t heard the following name I’m about to mention, you must be under a rock next to Patrick Star. Yeah you know who I’m talking about, that boy Pooh Shiesty! Wooo that boy know he on fire. The latest star discovered by ATL legend, Gucci Mane, Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty been building a hell of a buzz leading up to his debut project, Shiesty Season. His album was number one on Apple Music before it was even released! Only 21 years, Pooh Shiesty is setting a path of greatness for himself as the next great southern rapper.

IMG_4419.jpg

Him and BiG30 went crazy !

Pooh Shiesty is receiving all the attention he deserves but some people may disagree. Recently, Pooh Shiesty posted a young lady’s tweet that suggested Gucci Mane was showing favoritism towards Pooh Shiesty and was being neglectful to his other shining signee, Foogiano. Which brings me to my point, people gotta know when its there time!

When someone has the hot hand you have to feed them! Just like when a shooter is on a streak in basketball, you have to keep feeding him until he’s no longer hot. People particularly fans have to understand a little bit more how a successful label works, especially while someone like Gucci Mane is at the helm.

Every artist has a marketing plan. That plan includes but isn’t limited to: building buzz for the music, when it will be released, how it will be released, the finances needed to pull off the project successfully, etc.

When it comes to Pooh Shiesty, simply put its just divine timing. He’s been killing it, I knew the boy was the one when I first heard “Who is Him” a track by him and Gucci Mane. “1017 choppa gang we don’t do no attempts, hop out and slam him with this choppa like I’m shawn kemp”, when I first heard that I knew he was outta here. Pooh had great performances on both So Icy compilations plus the loosies with BIG30, he had all the buzz he needed that would make his project number one before its even released.

IMG_A04760234E0E-1.jpeg

Guwop isn’t showing favoritism he’s putting wind behind an artist that’s been ready for takeoff. Gucci gifting Pooh Shiesty with a trackhawk Jeep (super fire btw) is just a manifestation of a reward for hardwork. Then to make this young lady’s point even more asinine, Foogiano currently has Pooh Shiesty’s project as his avi.

When someone in the crew is on fire, it is an obligation for everyone to get behind that person full throttle! If someone feels a way about a crew member getting shine, that person is effectively known as a HAM!!!

Watch 2real codee’s “Goodfella” today!

To bring things more locally, take me and my family for example. Right now my cousin, 2Real Codee, is scorching right now. A lot of our family does music, if any one of us felt a type of way about the shine my cousin is receiving then we would be effectively known as…..HAMS!!! Good thing we’re not, we’re doing the exact opposite, putting all of our energy behind cuz to help elevate him and keep his foot on the neck. That energy is reciprocated when its time for any of us to drop. When I dropped LONG MAY HE REIGN, it had the upmost support, its my most successful project yet. And anytime my cuz (WAV) is rising in. the ranks of producers we elevate and promote him. Whenever my brother drop we will be behind him as well.

So everybody gotta chill and quit being lames trying to cause dissension between successful crews. Showing love is not automatically favoritism its just appreciation that is well deserved.

WHEN I KNEW RADIO WAS RIGGED

2014_270_2_001-radio-raheem.jpg

WHEN I KNEW RADIO WAS RIGGED

We all know radio is trash when it comes to playing music, You’re going to hear the same six and seven songs because if you’re not on a major label you’re mostly not getting played. The radio have the potential to be so much more but it will never reach that because of the money and politics that is involved in radio. So when did I know radio was definitely rigged? Let’s take it back to 2003.

SPEAKERBOXXX.jpg

Back in 2003, Outkast released their more commercially successful album ever, the diamond-certified double disc, Speakerboxxx/TheLoveBelow. Speakerboxxx was a lyrical showcase and we know The Love Below helped set the foundation for much of today’s melodic hip hop. It was a true masterpiece. Till this day people still don’t know that Andre 3000 actually says “Happy Valentines Day, Everyday the 14th” not “February 14th”. People have argued me down about this but it was absolutely pointless I had the real cd, with the booklet that had the lyrics, so argue your mama.

Anyways, I can’t recall which song I wanted to hear on the radio but most likely it was Prototype. So one day we was in the car and I called into the radio to make a request. I couldn’t believe I actually got through! The dude said “ whats up man what you wanna hear” ? I was like “yo I wanna hear Protrotype by Outkast!” He said “Alr man we got that coming right up and take all that bass out your voice’. I believed he asked my age so thats why he said that.

Me and my mama was all excited like aw Vonnie you made the radio so cool. Then we waited and waited and waited and they never played my song!! But you know what they played? The same dang song we heard earlier!!!!!!! That’s when I knew the radio is trash and is rigged and don’t care about what people want to hear.

I never understood why people would call in and request the song they just heard played 30 times in 2 hours. It made me think man are these callers fake? What is the deal here !

But since that day I refused to call in again and I damn sure don’t listen to the radio anymore lol.

THANK GOD FOR AUTOSAVE

THANK GOD FOR AUTOSAVE

The lesson may be pretty obvious here but it still has to be explained. Everyone should be aware of the autosave feature. Autosave periodically saves a user’s work while they’re using the program. I was using the music program LOGIC PRO working on my new upcoming album. I was hard at work when the program of course inconveniently crashed! I couldn’t believe it because I played this sample so perfect and played with some keys as well. At this point in life I don’t know how to play the piano, so if I get a good sequence laid down I usually can’t recreate it lol. You can only imagine the anguish I felt before I realized autosave was there.

After re-opening the program my work was exactly the way it was before the program temporarily perished lol. After that it made really think “Thank God for Autosave”. Without autosave it can be nerve-wrecking constantly remembering to save your progress. Instead you’re allowed to focus on the work which is extremely beneficial to high productivity people. Autosave is like having someone look out for you saying “Don’t worry about it bro, focus on you, I got this!”. Which makes me go “Thanks Autosave let me continue putting in this work then, you know the vibes!”

All in all I want people to recognize and be grateful for autosave. Reflect on numerous in drafts in various programs you worked diligently on. The school reports, graphic design, music programming, imagine having to focus on those extreme details while worrying about not losing your data, ain’t nobody got time for that beloved! So remember to thank God for autosave and continue putting in the work!

LEAVE IT ON TOP

I. FORGOTTEN

55-journal.jpg

Last year, I purchased a journal from Target for me to write down nothing positive things into it. I call it my positivity book. I literally only write positive things and express gratitude. I make it a habit now to re-read any passages and the only people I intend to allow to read it are my future children.

Rick Ross’ HURRICANES go purchase that.

Rick Ross’ HURRICANES go purchase that.

I usually keep my journal on my coffee table, but after some re-cleaning it remained on the coffee table but its been under the Rozay book (Go cop that its good). Keeping it under that book, I realized weeks went passed without me writing in the journal. I’m like ok man I gotta intentionally get back to writing in this journal so then I figured out why I haven’t been writing in it as much.

II. KEEP IMPORTANT THINGS ON TOP

I soon realized I wasn’t writing in the journal as often because the journal wasn’t in my sight everyday. I started putting the journal back on top and I was back writing like my usual self. So when you have tasks that are important to you keep in plain sight! At the top of the list! Because its outta sight outta mind if you don’t !

NEW YORKERS DON’T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF NEW YORK

Me in New York. I don’t be playing I come here to hustle no cap! Go get the money! Dolph Voice

Crazy title huh? Yes, you may wonder how such a thing is even possible but it’s possible and it is happening. One day I was on Clubhouse, the emerging social media that specializes in voicechats and we was talking about New Yorkers don’t take advantage of whats in their backyard.

Ever since I was young I always wanted to move to Brooklyn. I don’t know why my heart was just always drawn there. Its like Dom Kennedy once said, “If I lived in New York, I’ll probably be the Brooklyn type”. So when I finally first made my trip to New York in Jan. 2016, I went to town. I literally traveled borough to borough every dang day. I went to all the art places, talked with strangers, made connections, promoted my brand everywhere I went and just submerged myself in the city.

So when I heard that’s its people in The Bronx, that never been to Soho, I’m like what the hell. When I hear people feeling like they have to leave New York to make it, I’m like but everything is right there! New York get all the exclusive drops, it gets all kinds of people, and the city literally never sleeps! You can walk outside to the connection. Where I was staying in Brooklyn, they was randomly working on a show outside and I got offered to work as a Production Assistant. New York is just land of opportunity especially for creators.

I originally wanted to go there for law school but I’m glad it didn’t work out that way maybe the city would’ve been too much of a distraction. However, I’m not done with New York, I’ll be returning to take over, somebody has to do it because you locals refuse to! lol

CONSCIOUSLY CENSORING

CONSCIOUSLY CENSORING

illo_nsfw.png

Lately I’ve been constantly monitoring the cursing in my life. For some reason I’ve been feeling like its time to lay off on the cursing and I’ve been actively trying to handle it. I don’t know why I chose to pursue this, is it faith reasons? Is It simple maturity? Could be those things and some other things all I know is all the cursing isn’t necessary.

I remember starting cursing consistently in the 4th grade, I would curse so much in school it was ridiculous and that trended upwards as I got older. Now I think I should know how to communicate better without foul things leaving my mouth every two seconds.

But you know cursing in my life and cursing in the arts are two separate things to me. I hate hearing censored versions of music, especially rap. Clean versions of rap songs sound so stupid. Think I’m Lying? Go Listen to the clean version of “WAP” and see how dumb it sounds.

I just feel like clean versions of music messes with the artist’s intention and expression. An artist has to be allowed to express themselves fully so you can really feel and connect with their music. Matter fact clean versions are such a hinderance that for the classic Dr. Dre song, Xxplosive, its a whole verse that doesn’t even get played on the radio! If you remember it skipped straight to Nate Dogg’s verse, his verse was the best part of the song fasure but you needed that first verse from Kurupt to set Nate up for the kill.

Even in my life, I’m hard on censoring myself in real life but in my music I still let free with the curse words. I probably should ease up there too because of my Christian faith but, man its just a couple bars in my raps really need a f*** or a s*** there to get my point across.

All in all this is NOT an overnight journey and the day may never come when I completely don’t curse. But to be at peace with myself, its going to be something I continuously work on. #love

WE MUST BE CONSCIOUS OF WHAT WE MAKE COOL

WE MUST BE CONSCIOUS OF WHAT WE MAKE COOL

Its no secret that hip hop is the most influential genre/culture in the world. It impacts every aspect of living from fashion to the automobile industry and everything in between. I was watching the video for Jeezy’s “Almighty Black Dollar ft Rick Ross” and he had some bars slamming non-black owned lyrics. After seeing that it made me think about the connection of alcohol and hip hop and what made certain spirits so cool.

I. I’LL BE DAMNED IF I DRINK BELVEDERE WHILE PUFF GOT CÎROC

hov cristal.png

HOV said these lyrics from the standout track “Family Feud” from the 2017 release “4:44”. Its crazy to see Hov get to this point, if you know the history with him and the world of spirits. During the earlier days of his career, you could hear and see a constant unofficial endorsement of Cristal. It was Cristal this Cristal that, until the owner of Cristal said some disparaging racist remarks. After that HOV made a declaration to not support Cristal again.

Other people followed suit yet you still see some artists drink Cristal…to this day. The question is why? Especially if most of them is privy to the racist remarks made.

II. ARTISTS HAVE TO LIVE OUT WHAT THEY LOOKED UP TO

As I stated earlier, hip hop is the most influential thing in the world. So of course the influence permeates in upcoming hip hop acts. From the Lyrics to the Image, part of an artist come up is being to live out things they saw growing up. So it made me realized the new artists are gonna live out what they aspired to at least once.

The first thing I thought about was lyrics by local Detroit cult classic rap group, Doughboyz Cashout. Its no secret they were inspired by the even more classic rap group, Streetlordz and the streetlordz had hella lyrics referencing Cristal so its no surprise that DBC would pop up in their videos with Cristal as well.

rocky cristal.jpg

To Bring it to a more national level, I even remember when Rocky first came out in 2011, I was seeing him in his video with Cristal and it was clear he had an extreme 90s influence on his music.

You can’t fault artists for promoting the Cristal image because it was associated with legendary moments in life. However once those moments are felt you do notice the artists quickly abandon that aspiration they had and move on to something different. You don’t see Rocky or DBC talking about no damn Cristal anymore. Its just don’t hit as hard once you already did it.

III. WHY WE MUST BE CONSCIOUS

A person can’t get over something they put on a pedestal until they experience what they put on a pedestal and realize that its not as hype as they thought it was. We have to be conscious of what we make cool from the beginning so we won’t start a cycle of b.s. Older experienced+respected street dudes can tell the youngins the streets isn’t worth it, but the youngins still want to have their own experiences and its hard to listen when the OG made the street life seems so appealing and worth the risk.

So if we start in the beginning to be conscious of what we elevate in the culture we can alleviate the dumb stuff at a much rapid rate and we can focus on elevating instead of waiting each generation to grow up and then proceed with the growth.

SOMETIMES YOU JUST GOTTA PULL UP

SOMETIMES YOU JUST GOTTA PULL UP

barber.jpg

One Day I was planning to get my bi-weekly haircut and I went to text my barber. (If you know you know I usually go with a female barber, but due to the pandemic she refuse to cut, but this barber still crispy).

My barber don’t usually respond quick but this was taking longer as usual and I was like “Dang I need this cut at this time because I’m not trying to wait a million years for clippers to grace my skull”.

Even though he ain’t respond I still pulled up to the shop at the time I scheduled and was able to get cut at that time, that made me realized “sometimes you just gotta pull up”.

Pulling up in life is simply being direct, going straight to it. Sometimes in life you try to make all these plans and provisions, while these are good. sometimes you just gotta go big and get straight to it.

If I would’ve relied on that text I would’ve been like “alr I’ll try again the next day” or I could’ve taken the non-response personal and been like “man I’m bout to go to somebody else” and just played myself out of cut.

Instead I decided to just go straight to it and show up like I originally planned on too. That’s how you gotta do in life, you got a plan, a little hitch go in your plan, you don’t get defensive or contemplate a zillion years, you stick to your guns and just go get it.

Gotta pull up on your goals or wait for the universe to respond and trust me the universe is not responding to you because you not even willing to go get it.

Whenever I speak with people going thru turbulent times, I always try to remind them do not make desperate decisions, even if it seems like there is no other option. Desperation leads to an impulsiveness that can be hard to rectify. Impulsive acts are often foolish choices that can have big blowbacks simply because we didn’t take time to think of things in the long run.

img source: https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.chabad.org%2Fparshah%2Farticle_cdo%2Faid%2F2372639%2Fjewish%2FEsau-Sells-His-Birthright-for-a-Mess-of-Pottage.htm&psig=AOvVaw3PO95klGIlCayCPkVg2Rtv&ust=1610159497418000&am…

This made me think of the story of Esau and Jacob, the two sons of Abraham. Esau was entitled to Abraham’s blessing being that he was the first born. However, Esau was unaware about how much value his birthright had and his younger brother would soon take advantage of that.

One day after working in the fields, a hungry and fatigued Esau entered the home as Jacob was making a pot of stew. Stew that probably wasn’t that good, but would probably taste crazy delicious to a man who hasn’t ate a thing all day long. Especially back in those biblical days, man the heat probably hit so different and he was probably funky, he just needed a good meal and a bath lol.

Anyways, Jacob seized this moment (he was plotting on Esau’s birthright the whole time) and offered Esau the stew in exchange for Esau’s birthright. Esau made a foolish rationalization, declaring that a birthright will be worthless to a dead man so he swore off his birthright in exchange of food.

After learning he was tricked by his mother and Jacob ( go read the full story in Genesis and you’ll see how that came about), he tried to get his birthright back but to no avail.

Here’s a couple things that impulsiveness/desperation makes you do:

  1. REASONS THAT DON’T MAKE NO SENSE

In a desperate measure you start trying to convince yourself that the dumb decision you is about to make is a good one, you can usually tell its a foolish rationalization because it will involve extremities. I.E. Esau saying a birthright is no good to a dead man. I mean I guess that’s true but that boy wasn’t about to die, he was just hungry, yeah we all been at that point of what feels like starvation but like I always say, “it ain’t that deep.”

2. SHORT TERM EARN, LONG TERM BURN

Esau’s birthright had so much attach to it. It’s a literal blessing from God, you have a whole lineage covered in God’s divine grace. God’s grace covers a multitude of things in your life from health to wealth and everything in between. His birthright was long term gain, something he wouldn’t immediately feel the affects from but it was a sure thing if you let it play out.

But that food it was right there, in that very moment. You knew the instant effects of that food. You was hungry, bones aching, you been in that hot pre-historic sun, ain’t no nikes back then you probably in sandals made from wood, man you just wanna eat. You can smell that food and you can even taste it. But you can only eat that one time, once Esau eats that food and his stomach is quieted bet he came back to reality like, “this fool done stole my whole birthright, naw imma need that back on god”.

However, it’s no getting that back. Once you make a dumb in the moment decision its gonna take the Grace of God Almighty himself to help you bounce back and that was something Esau didn’t have.

FINAL WORDS

Your mind can play some tricky sometimes sick games in your head cues Geto Boys - Mind Playing Tricks on Me , but you have to remember that if I make this decision in haste its 90% chance this isn’t going to go as well as I think it is. Remember to never trade your “birthright” for “a single meal”, its just never worth it.

LEFTOVERS AND CAREERS

LEFTOVERS AND CAREERS

The other day I was heating up some fries from a restaurant the day before. They tasted disgusting and I wanted to launch them to the capital. I was mad because the day before they tasted so amazing, it was good when it was hot and now it can never reach that same taste again. Heating those fries made me think about artists and their careers, lets explore more.

Daniel Hernandez, aka, 6ix9ine.

Daniel Hernandez, aka, 6ix9ine.

I. HOT AS FRIES

If you don’t know who 6ix9ine is, its okay he wasn’t that important (no disrespect). However, one would be lying if I didn’t say he was scorching hot at one point. In 2017, Daniel Hernandez, better known as, Tekashi69 or 6ix9ine, took the music world by storm. His aggressive lyrics, one word song titles, and rainbow hair had New York and eventually the rest of the world on smash. In his music, 6ix9ine perpetrated images of gang culture which saturated his music and his lifestyle. He got involved with disputes with some of the most perceived toughest rappers and had ties with a lethal New York gang, all which made him a viral sensation and blew him up to pop success, even earning collaborations with megastars, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj.

But just as quick as he rose to fame, he came down even quicker. Inner turmoil with the gang he was affiliated with led him to a prison sentence and eventually “snitching” to save his tide and return to society. Before he came home everyone wondered would hip-hop listen to an openly known “snitch”? Could anyone take this guy seriously ever again for acting like something he was not?

He almost proved that people would listen to him regardless. He earned the #1 song again with Nicki Minaj and was able to break YouTube records again. However that stint didn’t last long as it seemed people only cared about this young man when he was doing theatrical antics for internet clout. However, seeing someone chasing clout get tiresome after a while and his album release proved it. His album, Tattletales, did make a strong number 4 debut on the Billboard charts but shortly after that it was a ghost silence. Even now at this present moment I don’t hear anything about the young man, its almost as if he fell of the face of the earth.

His post-prison release, Tattletales, which some considers a commercial flop.

His post-prison release, Tattletales, which some considers a commercial flop.

His career was like those fries from the restaurant, came in scorching hot but when it was time to heat things back up, it just didn’t hit the same.

II. THANKSGIVING LEFTOVERS

Jay-Z aging gracefully

Jay-Z aging gracefully

However, microwave food isn’t so bad. Take for instance thanksgiving leftovers. Yeah its not as hot and fresh as it was when it was first prepped but it still hit the next day. That’s how I think about someone like Jay-Z. Jay isn’t at his peak like he was during The Blueprint era but he always has music you can go back to and get something from. His album Vol 2. Hard Knock Life, its like a plate of macaroni and cheese you can never get enough of it. Just like when Thanksgiving is over the leftovers still slap, that’s how Jay music is. You can’t recapture the feeling when The Black Album drop but its always there, waiting for you to load it back up and its still gonna hit your soul like you want it to.

III. CONCLUSION

Artists should strive for longevity over everything, if they take the music business serious. If you only want a fleeting moment and you’d rather take all the accolades and limelight on the front end, maybe you’re just a side dish of fries, who won’t be good to anyone the next day.

But if you always want a special place in people’s heart, be something people can debate over all while being something that brings people together? Then you want to be a thanksgiving meal baby!

Air Jordan XIII, reflective side panel, you know the vibes, real 98’ energy

Air Jordan V’s with the 3M reflective tongue

Air Jordan V’s with the 3M reflective tongue

Probably Not, but they are a super cool material, but I never knew why? All I can recall is people making a big fuss over any sneaker that had 3M on it. For those who don’t know, 3M is reflective fabric, that is typically used at night for safety workers. However, the sneaker world has made 3M be featured on some of the most classic sneakers ever.

If I can recall my first 3M encounter was with the Air Jordan XIII. Seeing that was probably way cooler to me because I was younger and then I saw it on the Air Jordan V I had in high school and it had me an awe. Again I do not know why its just literally cool.

I’m not the only one who shares this love for 3M, even Action Bronson talked about the importance of 3M in one of the latest episodes of COMPLEX’s SNEAKER SHOPPING. He talked about the reflective ‘N” on a New Balance sneaker. He specifically said, “When you taking pictures and you with a bunch of people and they don’t have the “N” thats reflective, you’re gonna stand out aka you’re beamin’ or you shinin’”. “If you’re running of course they’ll see you but if you’re taking pictures…wooooo.”

And with that said I think I finally found out why I love 3M on sneakers so much. It helps you stand out, plain and simple. Like Action Bronson said, “you’re beamin or shinin’”. Its nothing like “beamin’ or shinin”, that’s why we getting car washes, or buy jewelry, you get an extra glow when you’re shining and that’s exactly what 3M helps you do.

THE JELLY DONUT: UNWANTED SURPRISE

Everyone Loves Surprise Right?

Ewwww

Ewwww

Ok lets get it out the way. I HATE JELLY DONUTS. They’re disgusting and should never been in existence. You bite into it thinking its just a regular donut and then, BOOM, a splash of filthy jam sneaks in your mouth. (Yes I know that sentence needs a major pause). But Jelly Donuts isn’t the point of this article, the point of this article is what the Jelly Donut represents, an unwanted surprise.

I realized so much in why I hate the jelly donut is because the jelly is unexpected, you don’t see it coming. In Life, no one wants to get caught off guard. Think about being spooked or your total coming up to more than you expect, the jelly is the unwanted surprise in life that you could probably be do without.

People can be a jelly donut as well. They can have a spectacular exterior. They’re glazed, hot, just the right size, super fresh and as soon as you take a bite, you get hit with the worst surprise ever. You found they’ve been hiding children or just flat out lame, whatever they turn out to be, its not what YOU expected and that’s the problem!

So much like how I would like the donut I choose to consume to be consistent in appearances, I expect the same from the circumstances/people in my life. It makes one wonder, is that too much to ask for?
