THE INSTALENSE
Recently I was watching an instastory of Pharrell’s as he journeyed through Japan. I thought to myself “man this is really cool what he’s showing me I need to make sure I hit places up like these when I hit Japan “ and then “I thought holy crap this is what instagram is really for.” I believe instagram is a tool to help show people what their aspirations and goals look like in tangible form. By having an inside look they can better visualize desirable things for themselves.
Although mostly instagram is used as an ego-driven instant gratification platform, I believe it to be more credible than that. Japan has always been a dream visit of mine due to how much I love anime and a couple of other things. Seeing Skateboard P expose so much of his routine, makes me actualize the same things for myself.
seen this floating around? This is the guy behind “SUPPORT BLACK COLLEGES”
Another instagram user by the name of Kool.Kiy also serves as an inspiration. He is a talented young man who has his own successful clothing line, though people may not know him personally they have definitely seen his work before.
At time he may posts his sales by screen-shotting his Shopify notifications that shows an abundance of sales in short time periods. Now in the eyes of lames, fools, and hams this can be taken the wrong way very quickly.
However in the eyes of myself I see something that can also be for me. Him showing his sales and the process behind his craft allows me to visualize the same for myself and use his a success as motivation and a guiding light rather to hate on.
Next time while surfing thru the gram (which you’ll probably do immediately after reading this) think about each post that features one of your desires, as something that can serve as inspiration.

OWNERS SET THE PRICE
$2 for this smh.
Yesterday I walked to the store and needed some sweets. I grabbed a pack of M&Ms and when the cashier told me it cost $2 I almost lost my lid. I thought to myself “My mans how did this small pack of M&Ms cost two bones”? I paid the $2 and dipped.
Upon my exit, I told myself “welp that what you can do when you own the place. You set the price to whatever the hell you want”. People can complain about prices all day but there is nothing one can really say if they’re not the owner.
People have the choice of paying or not paying. Owners will always have the people that will pay the price they set regardless, so your complaining means little to nothing to them.

Its like with my brand (WELÇOME©: HAND DRAW GRAPHICS), people are so used to black creators pricing everything for $20 it was an extreme shock when I came out the gate charging $149.99. Many people ridiculed me and some were vocal In how they wouldn’t dare pay that much.
But as the owner I can set the price to whatever I want and someone will buy it. Bottom line, if you want to see a difference move from consumer to owner and you can make logistics and quality control decisions till your face turn blue.

YOU THOUGHT THE DAY WAS RUINED
I still got to see Endgame (it’s incredible!!!)

Today I woke up with much vigor and was ready to hit the ground running with my plans for the day. After the gym it started raining and it was so unexpected because I usually check the weather before departure. I immediately thought “oh man now the day is totally screwed, I didn’t expect all this rain”. To make matters worst I had to walk in the rain. Before I made it home the sun started to shine and that it when it hit me.
You can have a plan for a plan for a plan but when do things ever go exactly as planned? Unexpected storms arises and if we get swept by the moment we foolishly think all hope is lost. But as soon as you think things get worst that’s when they get better.
My plan for the day was still executed and I ended the night on a high note. Silly of me to think that the day was actually ruined.

NOW I WANT YOUR SNEAKERS
KD 12
Lebron 16 “MARTIN”
The sneaker market is at a whole new level with resells and a whole new system for making purchases. Yet there seems to be something lacking when it comes to basketball sneakers. Why? Why do we purchase basketball sneakers anymore? I buy Lebrons because Bron is my favorite player so I have an emotional connection with him. I Like KD sneakers but its because of a stylish design not for a basketball connected reason (even though they’re comfortable to hoop in).
Last night when Dame Dolla dropped that magnificent game winner, impulsively I wanted to buy every pair of Dame 5s on the market. Those are the moments basketball fans live for and those are the moments that make you want to purchase an athlete’s signature sneaker.
When you seen Mike achieve greatness it made you want every pair of Jordans. When Allen Iverson crossovers were sending people into the next part of the solar system, there was no question that you wanted every pair of questions.
What we need is more moments like last night. Incredible moments that make us wanna run to Nike, Adidas, etc. and cash out because we just witnessed a superstar perform a superstar act.
With sneakers being as valuable as they are, basketball sneakers must do it job in reestablishing the emotional bond they once had in consumers. And the spark of that bond starts with the athlete.

Exposure And Angles
I was on Instagram and I saw another pair of Kyrie 5s on my explore page. I’ve been seeing Kyrie 5s a lot lately and now I’m at the point that I want a pair.
The most recent pair I’ve seen made me questioned why did I want a pair? And I realized after doing some reverse marketing on myself.
I came to realize that the combination of consistently seeing cool pairs with quality pictures is what made me finally want a pair of Kyrie 5s.
If you want a product to pop think about l two factors; Exposure and Angles.
Constantly keeping something in someone face while presenting it in a quality form can convince someone that it is time to make that purchase.
And Instagram (social media in general) serves as a good platform to constantly expose a product to the masses. If someone possess the ability to visually capture a product then there’s no limits to the amount of people that can be won over to support a product.

NO TIMELINE FOR DISCOVERY
With the untimely passing of Nipsey Hussle, it is natural that people would stream his music. His passing has led fans to dive deeper into his music and casual fans started to discover his discography before his debut album Victory Lap.
“One week after his tragic murder outside of his Marathon Clothing shop in Los Angeles, @nipseyhussle’s 2018 album ‘Victory Lap’ has re-entered the Billboard 200 chart at no.2 ‘Victory Lap’ sold 66,000 equivalent album units after peaking at no. 4 when it debuted last March.”

I thought about the magic people must experience when they hear something for the first time when I was listening to Uptown by Drake, Lil’ Wayne, & Bun B. I remember when that song and the mixtape its featured on (So Far Gone) came out in 2009. I remember clicking on the tape w/o even knowing Drake was, it was the first day it dropped and I just seen it on a blog and thought the cover was cool. 10 years later Drake re-released the mixtape for a special anniversary and it re-enter the Billboard Charts. I imagine, even as odd as this sounds, many Drake fans first time hearing So Far Gone was from the re-release.
However that is the beauty of music and art in general. Creators shouldn’t create with the thought of “oh this bout to impact millions right now I got one”, no. Instead creators should play the long term game knowing if people missed out this time, things always come back around and the door re-open for discovery, making the creation seem like it was just made yesterday.

Villainous Extremes
It’s unfortunate when people experience unfortunate events. When one is wronged it is natural to want to correct that wrong. But what happens when the victim becomes the victimizer? How far is too far?
innocent girl turned cold-hearted, don’t be a victim of circumstance!
Yesterday I was watching an episode of The Flash, and the young lady wanted revenge for her parents murder. Not only did she want the woman who murdered her parents ( who did so by accident, her powers sparked an explosion she couldn’t control, she had no intent to hurt anyone) but she wants everyone with powers dead. Now she lives on the extreme side of “justice” and she is becoming the very thing she hates.
When people lean towards extremes their cause is usually destroyed because it leaves no room for redress. The person takes an all or nothing approach that only takes away all their common sense and nothing gets solved.
Its like a personal dispute in my family. One person felt like another member came and disrespected their home. The disrespect wasn’t that extreme it was someone interfering w/ domestic disputes (stay out of couple arguments unless you really have to step in to discourage violence). But the one person went to the other member house and took things a whole different level. Now he’s on a crusade to disrespect her every waking moment he get until she apologizes for her disrespect.
His crusade is now a lost cause because the extremes he acted on. Talking it out, allowing room for redress, would’ve allowed reasonable minds to differ and discuss. Now its foolish pride and a lost cause with severed relationships that may never be mended.
When dealing with a wrongdoing the best course of action is a sensible approach. Talking it out, getting behind the reason for the wrong doing and other reasonable things. Veering into the deep extremes will only lead to more hurt and guaranteed the person you’ll end up hurting the most . . . is yourself.
